A record-setting $45,000 was raised June 13 during the 2008 Celebration Day festivities on the campus of Kidron Bethel Village at 3001 Ivy Drive, North Newton. More than 1,000 people attended the event. Proceeds went toward the purchase of a new transport van for Bethel Health Care Centre.
Carnival games and family activities including clowns and a caricature artist were featured, as well as the Kidron Klassic Kar Show, a pig roast and live entertainment by The Boeing Jazz Band and folksinger Laura Lee. Auctioneer Wade Brubacher closed out the evening with a benefit auction, including an Excel riding lawnmower, a condo vacation, furniture, gift certificates, handmade quilts, works of art and other items.
