
Cindy Vanover of The Woodlands, Texas , is the new president and chief executive officer of Kidron Bethel Retirement Services Inc., North Newton . The faith-based, nonprofit company operates Kidron Bethel Village , a continuing-care retirement center at 3001 Ivy Drive.
Vanover previously was at The Methodist Hospital System in Houston , Texas , and also has served in numerous executive roles in the areas of healthcare, education and children’s services.
“I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to serve such an important ministry,” Vanover said. “This is a wonderful community with a dedicated board, involved residents and caring staff. I care deeply about the work that we do and I do not take this responsibility lightly. I’m looking forward to being a part of the continued success of one of the recognized leaders in long-term care.”
She holds a master’s degree and speaks internationally on values and corporate culture in business. According to Mim Shirk, vice president of Mennonite Health Services Alliance, Vanover’s presentation on integrating values into organizational culture during the group’s 2007 assembly “sparked a major initiative for us.”
Prior to her involvement in corporate culture and values, Vanover worked for more than two decades in public relations, fund-raising and administration. A Montana native, she has three adult children.
Vanover replaces interim president and CEO LeRoy Weddle of McPherson who had been at the helm since September 2008.
