Kidron Bethel Village, Asbury Park, Kansas Christian Home and Presbyterian Manor of Newton received the 2009 Excellence in Consumer Education Award from the Kansas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging as part of its Quality First Awards of Excellence program.
The group was honored for its unique approach to marketing, showcasing the city of Newton as a great place to retire. Marketing directors from the four retirement communities collaborated with other organizations to produce the annual Discover Life After 55 Expo, advertisements and other activities. No other community in Kansas comes together in this unique fashion to promote itself as a great place to retire.
Marilyn King, Kidron’s Director of Independent Living and Marketing, is a founding member of the marketing group.
