Kidron Inc. recently received a major grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for capital improvements to Kidron Inc.
Roofs are being replaced on the main building as well as the fourplexes on the south side of Bluestem Street. In addition, new windows and sliding-glass doors are being installed in each residence. Fifty-one of the 55 Kidron Inc. apartments are receiving new, energy-efficient furnace and air-conditioning units. Local contractors expect to complete the project by fall.
Those helping to procure the grant include Director of Independent Living and Marketing Marilyn King, who authored the request; Vice President of Finance Scott Whitley; Director of the Physical Plant David McBeth; Accountant LuAnn McMannis; and Community Life Coordinator Susan Almond.
