Kidron Bethel Village offers a unique experience in volunteering. Our special volunteers are an essential part of our organization, providing cheer and comfort to our residents. You are invited to be a part of this team and give joy to our residents and enjoy the benefits of volunteering.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Take a resident for a walk.
  • Visit one-on-one with a resident.
  • A man is needed to lead the men’s discussion group, “Crops and Coffee,” at 9 a.m. Wednesdays.
  • Write a letter for a resident.
  • Help distribute ice to residents.
  • Assist at events, social gatherings and large parties.
  • Read mail, books or devotionals to the visually impaired.
  • Share a special skill or talent.
  • Assist with activities such as Bingo, rhythm band, etc.
  • Accompany residents on planned trips.
  • Present or arrange for a program of singing, other music or a special speaker.
  • Demonstrate how to make a craft item.
  • Maintain existing birdfeeders.
 
Suderman Centre for Assisted Living

  • Resident Visits: With 1 person or a group. People enjoy positive conversation with a good listener.
  • Walking with Residents: 3 p.m. Wednesdays, in nice weather, walking around the Village campus. Length will be determined by the group walking.
  • Bingo Caller: 3 to 4 p.m. Mondays and/or Thursdays. Set up and clean up the game, set out the prize tray, use a lapel microphone so residents can hear, be patient and have fun with the game. Keep track of the winners and award prizes when games are complete.
 
Harvey County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

Kidron Bethel Village is a Harvey County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) location. If you are 55 or older and interested in joining this program, please contact the RSVP office at 316-284-6881 or visit the office in the Harvey County Courthouse, Newton.


Becoming a Kidron Bethel Volunteer

  1. Complete the Volunteer Application.
  2. Schedule an interview.
  3. Complete general orientation and tour of facility.
  4. Choose area of service.
